PARACHUTING: FOR LIFE AND THE PRESERVATION OF WATER.

The global heating might cause drastic consequences as the drinking waters scarcity in the world, phenomenon that has already being registered in some regions. Brazil, again, with its water sources, in special in the Amazon, represents around half of the global supply. Consequently, today, there is a bigger global concern about this issue. Due to that fact, the National Conference of Brazil Bishops took the Amazon safety issue as the theme for the Fraternity Campaign of 2007.

Parachuting, sport whose adepts have great commitment with the preservation of the nature, cannot be negligent in the fight for life and the planet survival. Known worldwide, Parachuting is, today, one of the most recognized sports in the Federacy of International Aeronautics - FAI. Especially Brazil, as a member of the Federacy, has demonstrated a high competitiveness of its athlete and efficiency in the organization of events.

Therefore, we will be organizing a jump capable to break Brazilian and South American Parachuting records: 100WAY. And, we will combine this event with Amazon exuberance, in a way that the rational use of natural resources is defended.

The event will take place from the12nd to the 16th of September, 2007, in Manaus, Amazon, with the support of 200 athletes who come from 18 Brazilian States. The event is part of the project "De mãos no Céu pela preservação da floresta amazônica" that consists of a series of jumps trying to reach, in 2007, the mark of 100 athletes forming a water molecule in the sky. The responsible ones for the accomplishment of the event are STRATOSPHERE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION and the Wind Blue Team of Parachuting. The responsible technicians are: Ricardo Pettena and Manoel Damasceno (Brazilian and World Champions). The event might have a wide covering of national and international media.
